Day 12

Sigh....... Yes that says it all. Even with another couple of hours play tonight, I went to reg for the €3k Sunday Freeroll and says I’m still not played enough raked hands to qualify. I did however qualify for the €1000 tomorrow afternoon at 5pm. I’m going to have to play some more to get me into the other game and if I have the same luck like I did tonight, then I’ll be lucky if I have enough to sit back down again when it’s time to grind again next week. Today’s session was painful and these stakes are driving me insane. I started to look at some Mtt’s and I may still be tempted to play those instead. They do have tournaments for like 55c and €1 and not forgetting my ticket to. But these little staked tournaments run like a normal bigger tournaments with 10 minute blinds and a decent starting stack, so don’t be surprised if I get side tracked in the near future. Binking one of those should get me out of the 1/2c cash games which are killing me. Today was another bad day. I ran a b...

Day 11

I played for about 2 hours today and I was up then down and up again, but nothing really happened for me today. No big hands, poor player pool with limpers and calling stations, so I couldn’t bluff quite as often as I like. But I went with it and ended with a small loss overall for today. I think I might of done enough to play the €3k freeroll on Sunday, but I’m planning on playing Friday, possible two tables if it’s busy enough.

Day 10

Toot Toot, in to double figures for days played with tonight’s short session. I played about 30 hands and made a small profit which all counts as they say. I started feeling tired and so I made myself some supper whilst sat out but unfortunately I missed three Big Blinds and so I was booted from my table. No sweat really, because I was getting tired. Hopefully a good nights sleep will help and my partner is working late tomorrow so hopefully I get enough hands in to qualify for those two free rolls at the weekend, with the Sunday one being the most important. But like I say, a win no matter how small, contributes to the overall project. Overall Bankroll now stands at $7.17. I’ll try and get into double figures tomorrow. That will give me a lift.

Day 9

Again, not much played this week due to one thing or another, but I did manage to play about 50 raked hands tonight for over half a buy in profit. I’m going to be playing more this week coming so I can use my ticket and get back into those free-rolls that I really should be playing weekly. It doesn’t help with Party & 888 both having festivals running side by side, so it’s just been unfortunate. I do still need my US $$$$ if I’m going to Vegas next year. But this challenge is getting my full attention. Famous last words I know, but we shall see. Profit is still profit as they say!

Day 8 1st August 2019

It’s the first time this week I’ve managed to play some poker. Tiredness mainly the reason behind it. But I managed a nap this afternoon and I was ready for action. It was such an important session to the challenge after my disappointment in the cash games losing 3 buy ins when I should of been winning those buy ins. But hey it’s poker. I want the cash in the middle when I have the nuts and despite losing the 3 buys, I can not fault my play. The quicker you get over these BadBeats the better your game will become. I mean who still goes on about getting outdrawn these days? We move on simples. Unless your hand is 100% to win, then you’ve got to accept that when it doesn’t win it’s also ok. So moving on today’s play. I fired up the client but by half an hour I had lost a buy in, won a double and then another double after my double. The result was I was up just short of two buys. It would of been more, but we all got to pay the rake right? These are my notes I made straight after my w...

Day 7.

28th July and I’m sat in two tournaments. I have both screens up and the first to start is the €1 flip to the €110 Sunday major. By some miracle I win my first table of 9 players with JJ and then it’s down to about 23 players who’ve all won their tables. Sadly I do not make it past that round and after checking, there’s still 6 players left after the two previous rounds. I knew it was going to be extremely lucky to win a seat, but it’s worth doing in the future when I have more funds. Talking of funds, the €3k Free-Roll starts and with around 470 runners and I’ve got my obligatory 1000 chips I now try to play the very best poker I’ve ever had. Playing super tight, my aim is to make the cash. I check the payouts and chuckle when I see the top 259 players will cash, but it’s just a 11c tournament ticket....... However, I grind my chips up, admittedly with AA three times in about 15 hands but most players have the 3500 starting stacks and know I’m playing tight, so I get respect even t...

Day 6

So this is the second update and I some how manage to play over 100 raked hands with a lot from day 5. This gets me into the €3,000 free roll again on Sunday the 28th, but it also gets me into a Saturday freeroll with €1,000. Unfortunately though, I didn’t rake 100 hands in the last 24 hrs which means I start with the minimum chips of 1000, those who raked over the 100 hands start with 3500 and I’m always going to struggle. It proves a lot harder than I thought with no hands to play either and I go out before the cash. I must say though, any sit outs in these tournaments get kicked after level 1 and so you are left with mostly players who want to play. I then play some more cash games to try and get to 400 raked hands so I can start with the 3500 chips, I fail and I also lose again, but not just cash, a sit n go and a 55c tournament to. It’s a disaster, I’m down to less than $2 about $1,74 to be precise and I stop playing for the day / night. Below is the screenshot of my demise. ...
