Day 7.

28th July and I’m sat in two tournaments. I have both screens up and the first to start is the €1 flip to the €110 Sunday major.
By some miracle I win my first table of 9 players with JJ and then it’s down to about 23 players who’ve all won their tables. Sadly I do not make it past that round and after checking, there’s still 6 players left after the two previous rounds. I knew it was going to be extremely lucky to win a seat, but it’s worth doing in the future when I have more funds.
Talking of funds, the €3k Free-Roll starts and with around 470 runners and I’ve got my obligatory 1000 chips I now try to play the very best poker I’ve ever had. Playing super tight, my aim is to make the cash. I check the payouts and chuckle when I see the top 259 players will cash, but it’s just a 11c tournament ticket.......
However, I grind my chips up, admittedly with AA three times in about 15 hands but most players have the 3500 starting stacks and know I’m playing tight, so I get respect even though I min raise with 10 BB instead of shoving which another guy had been doing and getting folds all the time. I wanted to get maximum profit and I did grind it up. I got it up to about 4K in chips when that hand happened.
What hand?
I’m in the SB or BB not quite sure now with AK and a mid position player raises and I 3 bet. A thinking player would of folded knowing I’ve been playing snug all tournament, but this numpty doesn’t seem to grasp any of that and shoves. I have to call and I’m relieved to see A4 off. That was until the flop came xx4. I lose and I have about half a Big Blind left with 300 runners left.
I’m in the SB next hand, so I must of been on the BB last hand now. UTG raises and all fold to me and I’m automatically all in. I have 10 6 spades and he flips KK. I flop a 10 and somehow river a 6 and I win. 2BB I have now and I even fold two hands after when I see 55 and numpty now likes to shove when he is in a pot. I call of course and two players fold. He’s got A8 and he misses and now I have 8BB, I fold a full orbit then get 10 10 and double again and I’m now back in the game with 17BB.
The bubble bursts and yeah, I’ve won a 11c minimum. I continue to play so snug, even folding (correctly) AK with 4 all ins before me. I continue to fold after fold and I get it in again holding AJ and I’m called by A10 and then I’m back to 12 BB after the 10 minute clocks starts to eat into my stack. We take our second break and I check the stats. There’s 160 left but the top 147 win a €1.10 tournament ticket and €2 cash. That’s my next incentive and after 7 minutes we reach it. I then scroll to see the next jump and it’s the top 100 but I have about 7BB left when the UTG who’s been raising my BB almost every orbit does so again, I have KJ and I know I have to play it and so I do and he flips AQ. There’s a King on the flop but so is the Ace then the Q and I scream for a ten but never arrives.
But I’ll take that from being down to half a Big Blind anytime. It almost doubles my cash balance and I have the €1 ticket to.
I’ve not played since Sunday purely because of being so tired. But below is the screenshot of my epic come back. I’ll be playing again tomorrow (Wednesday) getting those raked hands to go again. Hopefully the grim reaper is now no more and I can start to rebuild.

This is how I stand at the moment. Almost 4 buy ins with loyalty points to which are good for the 11c tournaments

Day 12

Sigh....... Yes that says it all. Even with another couple of hours play tonight, I went to reg for the €3k Sunday Freeroll and says I’m still not played enough raked hands to qualify. I did however qualify for the €1000 tomorrow afternoon at 5pm. I’m going to have to play some more to get me into the other game and if I have the same luck like I did tonight, then I’ll be lucky if I have enough to sit back down again when it’s time to grind again next week. Today’s session was painful and these stakes are driving me insane. I started to look at some Mtt’s and I may still be tempted to play those instead. They do have tournaments for like 55c and €1 and not forgetting my ticket to. But these little staked tournaments run like a normal bigger tournaments with 10 minute blinds and a decent starting stack, so don’t be surprised if I get side tracked in the near future. Binking one of those should get me out of the 1/2c cash games which are killing me. Today was another bad day. I ran a b...

Day 11

I played for about 2 hours today and I was up then down and up again, but nothing really happened for me today. No big hands, poor player pool with limpers and calling stations, so I couldn’t bluff quite as often as I like. But I went with it and ended with a small loss overall for today. I think I might of done enough to play the €3k freeroll on Sunday, but I’m planning on playing Friday, possible two tables if it’s busy enough.

Day 6

So this is the second update and I some how manage to play over 100 raked hands with a lot from day 5. This gets me into the €3,000 free roll again on Sunday the 28th, but it also gets me into a Saturday freeroll with €1,000. Unfortunately though, I didn’t rake 100 hands in the last 24 hrs which means I start with the minimum chips of 1000, those who raked over the 100 hands start with 3500 and I’m always going to struggle. It proves a lot harder than I thought with no hands to play either and I go out before the cash. I must say though, any sit outs in these tournaments get kicked after level 1 and so you are left with mostly players who want to play. I then play some more cash games to try and get to 400 raked hands so I can start with the 3500 chips, I fail and I also lose again, but not just cash, a sit n go and a 55c tournament to. It’s a disaster, I’m down to less than $2 about $1,74 to be precise and I stop playing for the day / night. Below is the screenshot of my demise. ...
