The new Day 5

I’ve been a bit lazy of late, mainly due to being away over the last weekend and not playing every day either. But hopefully once I get this up to date I will try to update every time I play.

So day 5 was in fact a total disaster. I lost 3 buys during the day despite being miles ahead on all 3 times. I had 9 10 out of the BB and the flop was 6 7 8 rainbow. I checked to the raiser and he bet full pot of about 16c. I was miles in front of his range of AA KK QQ JJ, or any sets and even AK so I did not want to check raise in case he folded. The turn was a Q and he goes all in for about €1.60 for a massive overbet shove. I have the nuts still and I call all day long here. He flips QQ for top set and all I need is to avoid a paired board. Of course the 8 river comes and it’s buy in number 1 down.
The second was a shove again on the turn with two hearts v my top two pair and I was pretty sure he was chasing the flush and this guy or gal shoves and I call and then the flush gets there of course.
I can’t recall the third hand now and my HUD doesn’t work on Microgaming so I can not retrieve the last hand.
I know I’m down from $8.46 ish to just over $4.86 to be exact. I now think about playing some very small tournament stakes and I find a 1c tournament with the top 2 players winning a $1.10 sat ticket for their Sunday major.

So I get the spot and then it’s a waiting game for Sunday 28th July.

Day 12

Sigh....... Yes that says it all. Even with another couple of hours play tonight, I went to reg for the €3k Sunday Freeroll and says I’m still not played enough raked hands to qualify. I did however qualify for the €1000 tomorrow afternoon at 5pm. I’m going to have to play some more to get me into the other game and if I have the same luck like I did tonight, then I’ll be lucky if I have enough to sit back down again when it’s time to grind again next week. Today’s session was painful and these stakes are driving me insane. I started to look at some Mtt’s and I may still be tempted to play those instead. They do have tournaments for like 55c and €1 and not forgetting my ticket to. But these little staked tournaments run like a normal bigger tournaments with 10 minute blinds and a decent starting stack, so don’t be surprised if I get side tracked in the near future. Binking one of those should get me out of the 1/2c cash games which are killing me. Today was another bad day. I ran a b...

Day 11

I played for about 2 hours today and I was up then down and up again, but nothing really happened for me today. No big hands, poor player pool with limpers and calling stations, so I couldn’t bluff quite as often as I like. But I went with it and ended with a small loss overall for today. I think I might of done enough to play the €3k freeroll on Sunday, but I’m planning on playing Friday, possible two tables if it’s busy enough.

Day 7.

28th July and I’m sat in two tournaments. I have both screens up and the first to start is the €1 flip to the €110 Sunday major. By some miracle I win my first table of 9 players with JJ and then it’s down to about 23 players who’ve all won their tables. Sadly I do not make it past that round and after checking, there’s still 6 players left after the two previous rounds. I knew it was going to be extremely lucky to win a seat, but it’s worth doing in the future when I have more funds. Talking of funds, the €3k Free-Roll starts and with around 470 runners and I’ve got my obligatory 1000 chips I now try to play the very best poker I’ve ever had. Playing super tight, my aim is to make the cash. I check the payouts and chuckle when I see the top 259 players will cash, but it’s just a 11c tournament ticket....... However, I grind my chips up, admittedly with AA three times in about 15 hands but most players have the 3500 starting stacks and know I’m playing tight, so I get respect even t...
